A huge shout out to Alexandre from Novation Lighting who has been kind enough to provide us with a look behind the scenes of his very festive project. Using Daslight 5, Alexandre has complete control over many washers, hundreds of LEDs, and even the mouth movements of his nutcracker figures!
Alexandre has achieved this by connecting a DVC Gold to Daslight via RJ45 cable, his main Super Scene is then triggered automatically by an Arduino- which simulates the pressing of a button on a keyboard. The power of the Super Scene is fully utilised here, as it runs his full timeline of scenes with perfect synchronisation. A second DVC Gold running in Stand Alone mode is then used to ensure that a large bell chime always sounds at the start of the show- this is made possible via the device’s built in Time Triggering feature.
It's not just the outdoor display that Alexandre has created - he's brought the magic inside with Santa's office, using Daslight 5. A glowing Christmas tree is the centerpiece of the scene, surrounded by Santa's chair, beautifully wrapped gifts and traditional nutcracker figurines, while a cozy fireplace adds warmth to the room. The carefully crafted lighting design, featuring dynamic DMX lighting with cool blues and warm fairy lights, brings the festive decor to life, creating an enchanting winter wonderland that showcases the creativity and power of Daslight 5.
